Every cheap Desktop Computer owner is looking for the next desktop he is going to buy or build. The quest for speed is never ending. The ideal PC would have tons of memory , terabytes of harddrive and a killer graphics card. Not every PC owner can afford his dream PC.
Cheap Desktop PC's
Most of us will have to settle for a cheaper PC. The objective here is to find a cheaper Desktop but not a cheap desktop computer. There is a big difference. My advice here is to define your needs. Define your niche:
Are You A Gamer
You need a PC with a fast processor of 3ghz or more. You also need plenty of memory (Measured in gb). I would shoot for 4gb. A must is a very powerful graphics card. My recommendation would be either Nvidia GeForce or ATI Radeon. You will also need a 7200RPM hard drive. Gaming PCs are of necessity very fast with plenty of memory. Playing a video game on a cheap desktop computer is a real downer type experience. The computer hangs up and the graphics are spotty.
Video Editing
You need a fast processor, lot of memory (More than 2gb) and a fast graphics card with plenty of dedicated graphics memory (256mb or more.) Video editing also requires a lot of memory. Since 10 minutes of video equates to a need for 2gb of hard drive space, bear that in mind also. As in a gaming PC, your hard drives need to be 7200RPM with at least 8mb buffer.
Seller
Look at the feedback from previous buyers for the seller whose desktop PC you are looking to purchase. Make sure he/she has a high rating in satisfaction from his customers. Check the return policy. If your budget doesn't support what you need, don't settle for a cheap desktop computer that will not fill your needs. Wait until you can buy what you need. It will be worthwhile.
