Dr  Mac aka Bob Levitus gives 10 reasons for you child to take a Mac to school.  While I don't agree with him, here is a brief synopsis of his reasons:
1    Mac's have fewer issues and glitches such as a virus and malware.

3    OS10.5x has an easy remote screen share amking it easy for you (or them) to get help.  Of course this is only of benefit if you are Dr Mac or yours truly, The Elderly Geek and My kid turns 40 next month.
4    Ever Mac comes with 802.11n (This is the fastest network connection available.)  it is of benefit should they want to hook up to the school network , or Starbucks wireless.
5    Mac can run both Windows and OS 10x.  I give in on this one.
6    Every Mac can run MS Office
7    You can get MS Office For Mac (Student and teacher version) for $119.99.  You can also get Student and Teacher version MS Office for Windows for the same price.
8    College students and faculty get a free iPod touch or Nano with purchase of a Mac.
9    College Students and faculty save on purchases at the Mac store.
10   Excellent free media software.
